In addition to the wonderful food and networking
the Pastors Cooking for Kids Fundraiser
held a spectacular Silent Auction.
The silent auction involved a lot of table watching and price observing.
Participants who wanted a particular item had to race back each
time someone else wrote down a higher price. Somehow at the end
everyone was observed to be pleased with his/her "winnings".
Thanks again to the Chairpersons, event planner, volunteers, and
attendees who made this past Auction a terrific event.
Send emails inquiries to Janking@mayorstime.com with questions,
comments, or ways to get involved with the 2008 Pastors Cooking
for Kids event.
We would like to thank the following people,
without whom the 2007 Pastors Cooking for Kids
Dinner & Silent
Auction would not have been possible:
Pastor Edgar L. Vann of Second Ebenezer Baptist Church for donating
his time and resources to co-chair our event with Frank
Taylor,
owner of Southern Hospitality Group and Seldom Blues Restaurant.
Frank Taylor, of Seldom Blues Restaurant & Jazz Supper Club:
the venue was wonderful, efficiently run, and well set-up; the food
was good; everything ran smoothly. We really appreciate your having
us.
Dr. Zolton Campbell of West Grand Dental LLC, J.
Mark Heppard president
of Mutual Mortgage and Patrick Lindsey of Chrysler Corporation:
we’re very grateful for your generous sponsorships.
E. Brian Kushim, Auction Committee Volunteer, a truly wonderful
and giving gentleman who contributed countless hours towards this
event, Brian we’re sorry that you couldn’t make it,
but we look forward to working with you on next year’s event.
deLoris Terrell, Auction Committee Volunteer Extraordinar, deLoris’ effort
towards this event was nothing less than fantastic. Her engaging
and energetic personality pushes us to put on the best possible
event we can. We are truly grateful for all of deLoris’ help
and hard work.
LaWanda Stevenson, “Girl Monday” Volunteer!
LaWanda was terrific. She came, she saw she conquered! LaWanda is
an extraordinary
example of what any program seeks in a volunteer.
Thank you once again for taking the lead and doing what was necessary
to get the
job done! Your ideas, work and claiming presence
really helped to kick the evening into shape.
Wanda Chukwu the Mistress of Ceremony. Wanda’s great sense
of humor along with impeccable timing helped to keep the evening
flowing and on point! Kudos for a job well done.
Last but not least, a special thanks to Jannice King for planning
the Pastors Cooking for Kids Event. Jannice’s huge contribution
of hard work and sense of humor were greatly appreciated. Without
her professionalism, flexibility, style, and attention to detail,
this event would never have happened. It is always nice to know
that everything will be here on time and that we can depend on you
for the best.
