Summer Internship Applications Available Soon!

A limited number of applications to the 2008 Mayor's Time Public Safety Academy Summer Internship program will be available from March 17 - 28, 2008 (while supplies last).  Applications must be completed and returned no later than 12:00 noon on Monday, March 31, 2008 to the site you picked it up from.

Due to financial restraints, the internships will be unpaid this year.  However, it is still an excellent opportunity to receive valuable skills including lifesaving techniques and Teen CERT training.  In addition, all MTPSA Summer Internship Graduates will receive preference when applying for Detroit Police Department positions.

Become a Home-Grown Hero!

The Mayor's Time Public Safety Academy (MTPSA) is a program designed to provide academic foundations and technical skills for an entry-level occupation into law enforcement, fire fighting, emergency medical services, and homeland or private security.

Succeed in careers with:

• law enforcement
• fire fighting
• emergency medical services
• corrections
• security

Practice through hands-on experience provided by some of the City’s finest officers and technicians. Upon graduation and completion of the program, you may receive 12 hours of credit towards the furthering of your education at Wayne County Community College District (WCCCD). Learn the skills you need to become a “Home-Grown Hero” in three years by attending MTPSA.
